Lars Arens nasceu a 2 de abril 1975 em Münster, Alemanha. Licenciou-se na “Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor der Kunsten/Conservatorium van Amsterdam, onde estudou com Bart & Erik van Lier, Marc Godfroid, Ilja Reijngoud, Martijn Sohier. Workshops/Masterclasses com Vince Mendoza, Jim McNeely, Maria Schneider, John Mosca, Ed Neumeister, entre outros...

Actualmente é 1o trombonista da “European Movement Jazz Orchestra” e da “Big Band do Hot Clube de Portugal”. Lidera os seus projectos “Tora Tora Big Band”, “L.A. Jumping Pulgas”, “L.A. New Mainstream.” Trabalhos de arranjador/compositor/trombonista para: Paula Oliveira, Carmen Souza, Cool Hipnoise, Big Band do Hot Clube de Portugal, European Movement Jazz Orchestra, entre outros...

Recentemente gravou no disco “viagens” do Pedro Moreira e do mais recente album da cantora Cristina Branco. Grava e digressa com o projecto vanguardista berlinense “Octothorpe plays Aerolgel”.
