Photo exhibition ErasmusDays promotes sharing of international experiences

The photography exhibition organized by the Polytechnic of Lisbon inserts itself into the European initiative ErasmusDays 2022, the aim of which is to promote the Erasmus + Programme around the world. At the inauguration, held on October 13, at the Arts-IPL Space, marked presence the director of the Erasmus National Agency + Education and Training, Ana Cristina Perdigão.

At the opening ceremony of the exhibition was delivered the award resulting from the Concourse of Photography #ErasmusDays, in the value of 500 €, to the winner Rita Gegorium, student at the Superior School of Health Technology of Lisbon, whose photo, Caus, was picked up in the Italian city of Naples.

They were also handed the certificates at two, from the three honorable mentions set by the jury, regarding the photographs of the students of the Higher School of Social Communication Jeronimo Pereira and Raquel Teixeira.

Fernando Melício, pro-president of the IPL for Internationalization and Cooperation and chair of the jury of the Photography ErasmusDays2022contest, conducted the inauguration of the exhibition that results from a Photography contest that already goes in the third edition.

To Paulo Morais-Alexandre, President of the Higher School of Education of Lisbon and curator of the exhibition, the Erasmus + "changes the world". In his opinion who goes through the experience of international mobility gets different, not only by the classes, but also by the convivid and what he sees.

Inserted into the global initiative that stems, annually, during a week in October, the goal is to promote the Erasmus + Programme to the local, national and international community, along those who have never had an international experience. Cristina Perdigão has therefore expressed a desire to call more people to the Programme, much known as a Higher Education mobility programme. For the director of the Erasmus + National Agency, even at this level of education, in Portugal, "there is room to grow". "The Erasmus + is accessible to all," it reinforced.

The Erasmus + Photography Contest whose first edition took place in 2020, was thought to, and remains as an initiative that is intended to involve the entire academic community of the IPL, with the aim of leading to the sharing of the participants ' "vivences and visions", the curator noted.

With a total of 40 photographs, chosen from among the candidatures for the Photography ErasmusDayscontest, the exhibition will be ranking in the Arts-Polytechnic Space of Lisbon until November 4, 2022, from Monday to Friday.

The show makes you aware through the photographs, the result of the international student mobility experiences and staff of the Polytechnic of Lisbon, which maintains a strong link to the ERASMUS +, around which the most significant part of academic mobility in the European Union develops.
