The Polytechnic of Lisbon (IPL) has ascertained the winning projects of the Academy of Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship-ACE, which proceeded over the course of the school year 2020-2021. The winners will represent the IPL in the national stage of the Poliemployende Network contest and at the BFK Ideas. The presentation session of the business ideas, proceeded on the day 15 of July, in digital format.
By jury deliberation, constituted by Tiago Ferreira da Delta Cafés; Gonçalo Abreu from Politec & ID and Antonio Bernardo da CGD, were these the winning projects, of the 6 schools 2 higher institutes of the Polytechnic of Lisbon:
1 place | Fizztail (ESCS)-2000 € CGD
2. th place | New Wave-Producer of New Talents in the music industry (ESCS)-1500 € DELTA
3 € place | Electric waxing for dental waxing-a new concept (ISEL)-1000 € POLITEC & ID
The ACE surge, in the IPL, with the aim of encouraging entrepreneurial spirit and empowering the participants for the development of initiatives that present solutions to existing challenges and needs in the various training areas of the schools and higher institutes of the Politecnico of Lisbon. The initiative, which aims to streamline entrepreneurship "inserts itself into the activity of the transversal dimensions of the Lisbon Polytechnic", said Elmano Margato, president of the institution of higher education, also present at the presentation session of the projects.
The program is open to the academic community of the IPL and, it intends to involve, not only students but also lecturers and non-lecturers, accepting mixed teams and external elements.
ACE is linked to two national contests, the Poliemployende, the network of polytechnics and non-integrated schools and the Born From Knowledge, of the National Innovation Agency (ANI). It encompasses, still, the possibility of, in projects that wish to advance to the implementation phase, benefit from the support of partners notably at the level of the incubation or acceleration.
The initiative, which aims to streamline entrepreneurship "inserts itself into the activity of the transversal dimensions of the Polytechnic of Lisbon ", said Elmano Margato, president of the institution of higher education, also present at the presentation session of the projects.
The winning team has the mission to represent the Polytechnic of Lisbon in the national contest of the Poliemployende that stems, this year, in Santarém from 13 a to September 16.

"Democratize the cocktails market." is the main goal of the students Mafalda Soares and Joana Almada, from Higher School of Social Communication, with the "Fizztail" project winner of the 1 th place of the ACE- Academy of Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship. The students finalists of the Publicity and Marketing course receive the monetary prize worth two thousand euros sponsored by the General Deposit Box. The idea consists in the development of a product "completely different", the students say, "are efervescent pastilles, with 100% natural ingredients, which suffice to add water and ice to turn into delicious cocktails".
The 2 th place of the contest has been assigned to the project "New wave- Producer of New Talents in the music industry", also from Higher School of Social Communication, with a prize of 1,500 euros funded by the Delta company. The goal of the "New Wave" is to accompany and grant the necessary support in all phases to the new musical talents who intend to pursue an artistic career "preventing the promising artist from taking the wrong steps that hypothesizing their future", refers the student Pedro Viegas, responsible promoter, in the project description.
The intervention areas of the music producer span from music production; artistic direction; mentoring and the agencing (concert marking and logistical operation).
" Electric pencil for dental waxing-a new concept " conquered 3. th place with right to the value of a thousand euros sponsored by Politec & ID. The project of the student authorship of the Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa consists of manually building, droplet the drop of wax, dental parts or supporting structures in 3 dimensions, with real size and format, which will be used in the planning of the treatment and the manufacture of the prosthetic device, refers Cátia Costa, the prosecutor responsible in the submitted application. It is a product "with great interest to all professionals who carry out dental waxing in their day-to-day, and may be marketed directly to dental prosthesis technicians, laboratories, doctors-dentists, dental clinics and students from the area", explains the student Cátia Costa, Biomedical Engineering, responsible promoter of the project.
